Meet Mia
{in a tiny tub, with big dreams}
Hi, I’m Mia!
Where does “Vessl Studio” come from?
When I was little, I learned that back in ancient times throughout the Roman period, storing treasure in jars of clay was a common practice as a way for safe-keeping during times of instability. This picture has been stuck with me since.
I’ve always considered my life as a jar of clay: being a common vessel for a glory beyond myself. It’s been a thread throughout my life, and even as a nursing student before switching to graphic design, I had the words “jar of clay” tattooed on my arm.
Later on, I got into pottery where I made physical jars of clay, a medium that brought me to Cincinnati when I worked for a pottery studio. I fell in love with the city and the people, and have gained a wide array of experience working ever since with different companies and brands in marketing, social media, storytelling, photography, and design.
VESSL was born from a calling. To be a vessel and carry what matters with care, intention, and meaning. This isn’t just a design studio. It’s a space to hold vision, purpose, and transformation.
I believe in the strength and dignity within every person and count it a deep honor to reflect that in my work. Being a vessel for someone else’s vision is sacred. It takes courage to hand over something treasured, and trust to invite another to preserve it and carry it forward. That trust is never taken lightly.
I am an adventurer at heart, a hype woman, and self-starter. I’m deeply curious and intentional about how I can fill a space with what it needs to flourish. I believe in quality over quantity. I believe in creating the community you want by being it first. I take commitments seriously, but am committed to not taking myself too seriously. I’m an outgoing introvert.
In 2025, I drove across the country to move my life from Ohio to California.
